Belgian company data: where it comes from and how fresh it is

How the data is put together
Companies
- Every legal entity in the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises is imported, with its status, legal form, activities, establishments and registered seat.
- A company struck off the register keeps its page, with the date it was struck off. It no longer appears in default searches.
- Sole proprietorships (natural persons) are not published on public pages: their seat is usually a home address.
Addresses
- Each registered seat is linked to a door of the BOSA address reference when its street, house number and postcode match, after the spelling is normalised.
- The register writes the same address in several ways (French or Dutch street name, a town added after a comma), so several spellings are tried, the strictest first.
- A seat filed at a range such as 12-14 is linked to door 12, and the page still shows the number as it was filed.
- The rate shown covers the seats filed with a street, a number and a Belgian locality. A seat with no number ("SN"), or abroad under a four-digit postcode, has no door to find, so it is left out of this calculation.
Annual accounts and the health grade
- Annual accounts come from the Central Balance Sheet Office of the National Bank, as the company filed them.
- The health grade (A to E) is estimated from the filed accounts. It is not a credit rating and does not know how a company pays its suppliers.
- No grade is shown for a company in official bankruptcy: its last accounts predate the court's decision.
Official Gazette acts
- Acts published in the annexes of the Belgian Official Gazette are read by a language model running on our own servers and turned into dated events.
- An event read from an act can be wrong. The published act remains the reference.
Directors
- Directors come from the annual accounts the company filed, not from the text of the acts.
- The accounts carry no national number: two people with the same name share one page, and the page says so.
- A person named in a filing can object to its processing, without an account.
What we do not change
- We do not correct the registers. An error in a company's own record is corrected by the authority that keeps it, and reaches Addrly with the next import.
- Figures are reproduced as the source publishes them, in the source's units.
