Belgian address autocomplete and validation API

Suggest official addresses as your customers type, turn free text into a clean structured address and check that a door really exists, for all three regions, from one REST API.

6,657,771 official addresses, refreshed every day.

Try the autocomplete

Type a Belgian address below: a street, a number, a postcode. No account needed.

Live demo: results are fetched directly from the API.

Why one API for Belgian addresses

One call for the whole country

Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels each keep their own address register. Addrly serves the national reference from one endpoint, so your form does not need to know the region.

French and Dutch together

Every address comes back with its street and municipality in both languages where both are official: Rue de la Loi is also Wetstraat.

Box numbers included

A box is an address of its own in the official reference. Suggestions and checks return it, so apartments and offices stop losing their mail.

Scores you can act on

Normalization and validation say how close the match is and which part differs, so your code chooses between accept, ask and reject.

Billed by typing session

The keystrokes of one lookup count as one request, not one request per character typed.

The companies at the address

An address suggestion lists the companies registered there in the BCE/KBO register, from the same call.

Integrate in minutes

One HTTP call with your key in a header, or the official Python client.

  • REST and JSON, an X-API-Key header
  • Official Python client: pip install addrly-api
  • Your remaining allowance in the headers of every response
  • Up to 100 addresses per call with the batch endpoint
Python
pip install addrly-api

from addrly_api import Addrly

client = Addrly()  # reads ADDRLY_API_KEY

for hit in client.autocomplete("rue de la loi 16", type="address"):
    print(hit.label)

address = client.normalize("16 rue de la loi 1000 brux")
print(address.normalized.one_line())
# Rue de la Loi 16, 1000 Bruxelles

Official data, refreshed every day

The addresses come from BeST Address, the national reference that BOSA, the Federal Public Service Policy and Support, assembles from the registers of the three regions.

Addrly reads it every day, so a street renamed or a building numbered last week is already there.

A request is one API call: an address, a lookup by enterprise number, a page of results or one row to match. A dossier is one complete company, counted once a month whether you open it in the app or through the API.

Frequently asked questions

Which addresses does the API cover?

Every address in the official BeST reference: Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels, with house numbers, box numbers and coordinates. Addrly covers Belgium only.

How is the autocomplete billed?

Per typing session: the keystrokes of one lookup count as one request. Normalization, validation and reverse geocoding cost one request per call.

Can I call the API from the browser?

Keep your API key on your server and send the autocomplete through your own backend. A key placed in a web page can be read and used by anyone.

Is the data official?

Yes. It is BeST Address, published by BOSA from the three regional address registers, and Addrly refreshes it every day.

Where is the service hosted?

The service and its databases are hosted on infrastructure in Belgium and the European Union.

Try it on your own customers
